At last, after months of enforced inactivity, we are able to present the perfect antidote to Lockdown Blues with a livestream featuring the irresistible Alan Barnes & Dave Newton Quartet from the Boileroom, Guildford at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12 January.
The brainchild of bassist and jazz impresario Marianne Windham, this event will represent an innovation befitting the strange times in which we find ourselves, a unique collaboration between Marianne’s Guildford Jazz, Berkhamsted Jazz, Chichester Jazz and Jazz in Reading.
As Marianne says, ‘A session with Alan and Dave, who will supported by me on bass and the great Matt Home on drums, holds the promise of an evening of warmth, humour, outstanding musicianship and above all, swinging jazz. The performance will be recorded and broadcast live from the Boileroom starting at 7.30pm, finishing shortly before 9pm., You’ll have a chance to ask the band your questions with a post-gig chat and chuckle session at the bar.’
