Always on the look out to offer something unique to put before our jazz-loving audience, we were approached by Chris Sansom with the concept a ten piece band performing his compositions, first incubated in the creative juices by Chris in the 1970s, using ‘classical’ principles, incorporating the musical vocabulary and sounds of jazz and rock.

Chris wrote a four movement work for a band, which included some members from the National Jazz Orchestra at the time, called Life & Times (of a Perfect Stranger. Although this project seemed to have come to nothing, its gestation period has ended!

Perfect Stranger comprises superb musicians who are steeped in jazz. Too many to go into detail, but look them up here

An album is recorded and this gig is the part of the launching tour. So please come along to hear the first Jazz Concert Band ever presented here by Jazz In Reading. Expect a night of exciting original music.
